GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Trevor has been featured in FOX 17’s Forever Home series before -- and the right family just didn't find him.

But his adoption worker knows what an amazing addition he would be to any family, and so do we. So we're re-introducing you to the very funny, kind, and determined young man.

“It`s really hard seeing these other kids getting families, and I’m still stuck here,” he says. “I just need someone.”

The 16-year-old has been in the foster system for five years -- watching other children, including his brother, be adopted by loving forever families.

“My little brother, he got adopted, and it was really hard when they separated us, separated me from him,” Trevor says.

But Trevor says he knew he needed to be strong for the only family he knew.

“I stuck through it. They started doing visits, then they started taking him away from me, and it really hurt me,” he said.

Perseverance is a theme in this young man`s life.

“Just the motivation of knowing if I don’t do this, I won’t make it in life,” he says. That motivation has earned him a 4.0 GPA, while he still sets his sights on helping others.

“I do everything I can. I’m an overachiever. I also plan on tutoring kids that aren’t doing so good.”

Excelling in archery and science, Trevor wants to become a zookeeper and would love to work at John Ball Zoo or Binder Park Zoo. He likes Capuchin monkeys.

Trevor says he just celebrated his 16th birthday alone, and he is not naive about the reality that time is running short to find a family.

“It’s normal life. Sometimes (finding a home) just doesn’t happen.”

Trevor says he’ll probably go into independent living -- out into the world alone -- never to know the simplest comfort, security, or love every child deserves.

“I just need someone, and it’s hard not having a family,” he says. “It`s really hard, especially the holidays.”

And as the holidays approach, Trevor asks you to consider him if there’s room for an extra chair at your table -- space for this boy so desperate for acceptance and love with so much to happiness and love to offer.

“I`m loyal,” he says. “Because, you know, if you have no one to be loyal to, there`s nothing for you.”
