Young child injured after being struck by a vehicle

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich.- A young child was rushed to the hospital Saturday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle in Plainfield Township.

According to Kent County Sheriff Deputies at the scene, the two to three year old girl was chasing a puppy when the accident happened. The mother was outside with the young girl and tried to stop her but it was too late.

The young girl was struck by a vehicle travelling north bound in 4300 block of Hunsberger Rd. NE. around 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Deputies tell FOX 17 that the girl was taken to a Grand Rapids Hospital, and she is listed in stable condition with minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation by the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.
