Former Static-X frontman dead at 48

Former Static-X frontman Wayne Richard Wells, whom fans knew as ‘WAYNE STATIC’, has passed away, according to the band’s Facebook page. He was 48.

Wells grew up in Michigan. He founded the band Static-X, but left to pursue a solo career. The band posted that he was scheduled to co-headline tours with Powerman 5000 and Drowning Pool over the next several months.

The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
