BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Crews responding to a house fire in Kent County early Friday morning found the body of a man inside, and police now tell FOX 17 that the victim, Richard Lee Priebe, had a stab wound to the neck that killed him before the fire was started.

The fire happened at Priebe's home, at 83 Jonquil SW near 60th Street in Byron Township at around 1:30 a.m.  It's not clear who or what started the fire, but police are calling the death 'suspicious' and are treating the incident as an active crime scene.
