Driver runs red light striking another vehicle; 2 people injured

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich.- Two people are recovering after their vehicle was struck by another vehicle that ran a red light.

According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened around 6 p.m. Saturday night at the intersection of James Street and Beeline Rd. in Holland Township.

Deputies state that a vehicle driven by 43-year-old Oliverio Gonzalez was attempting to his vehicle onto James St. when a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Rivir Bullers ran the red light at the intersection and struck the other vehicle. Gonzalez and his passenger 52-year-old Sandra Griffin were pinned into the vehicle and had to extricated. They were both taken to Holland Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Another vehicle was damaged by flying debris from the crash.

Deputies say that everyone involved in this crash was wearing their seatbelt.
