ALLENDALE, Mich. — Approximately five to nine inches of snow fell in a heavy band that stayed in place overnight and early Thursday morning in much of Ottawa County and southern Muskegon County.

The heaviest snow fell from around Muskegon and Fruitport through Coopersville, Allendale, and Eastmanville, with lesser amounts of around four to six inches in Hudsonville and Grandville.

Even in areas of West Michigan that avoided the heavy snow, a thin coating created slick road conditions and wreaked havoc on the morning commute.

More lake-effect snow is forecast to continue throughout the day, but it should subside slightly as it loses a boost from an upper-level disturbance that helped to trigger the heavy burst. Check the forecast and interactive radar on the Weather page.

Here are some of your photos from this morning’s snow — don’t forget, you can always post them on the FOX 17 Facebook page or tweet @FOX17.
