COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. — Friends, family and co-workers gathered at the Pepsi Center inside Fifth Third Ballpark to witness something most had never seen before December 2. Mike Chase, Vice President of Sales at Eikenhout, was shaving off his beard for the first time in 41 years.

The event was the finale of a fundraising plan for the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids’ Inner City Youth Baseball/Softball program that began when a couple of Eikenhout employees asked Chase how much it would cost to shave his famous beard.

Bitely Boys Riders Club in Bitely MI is Doing an event called “Clip It If You Care” on January 24th 2015. we all cut our beards off after people donate in an auction format. all money goes into a cancer fund that is then re-distributed directly to families and individuals fighting against cancer. in 2013 when we did this, we raised 5000$. It’s good to see people doing the same to help others.
