Marge’s Donut Den gets ‘stop work’ order on expansion

WYOMING, Mich. -- The owner of Marge's Donut Den received a 'stop-work' notice from Wyoming's building inspector Wednesday.

Marge Wilson began expanding her business into the lot next door in August. It has been vacant for years.

However, a few months into the process, she learned there's some obstacles she'll have to overcome to make sure her changes are up to code.

    oh, a business is expanding!
    Time for the local and state code cops and inspectors to show up to add a bunch of permit fee’s, tax revisions, penalties and violations to it and put a halt to this nonsense.
    if she can afford to expand, she obviously isn’t paying enough!

    It just seems she didn’t really understand what it takes to expand a business, especially one that has food involved. I know its probably frustrating but if processes and codes are not followed then things like fires, water damage, food poisoning etc are all risks to her business and the general public. I don’t think the city of Wyoming wants to make things difficult for her and it sounds like they already talked to her about it so the stop was put in place because she either forgot what they told her or ignored it. Either way I am sure they will work it out.
