Intoxicated driver rolls vehicle in Almena Township

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich.- Deputies were reported to County Road 653 and 32nd Street in Almena Township Sunday morning on a single vehicle roll over crash. When officials arrived on scene, they noticed the driver was outside of the vehicle. Deputies reported the 24-year-old male driver had appeared to be intoxicated and smelled of intoxicants.

The deputies administered tests and concluded the driver was intoxicated. The driver also admitted to consuming alcohol and that he had lost control of his vehicle in the curve, which lead to the roll over.

The BAC of the driver was .11

When deputies attempted to arrest the 24-year-old male, he resisted arrest. Deputies were then forced to take the driver to the ground to make the arrest. Once the deputies were able to have the male in custody, he was transported to the Van Buren County Jail. The driver refused any medical attention. He did not sustain any injury from the incident.
