Spike strips stop three suspects in stolen vehicle; One suspect on the run

KENT COUNTY, Mich. – Deputies attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of the City of Kentwood Sunday evening. The stop was attempted on Plainfield Avenue near Woodworth in Plainfield Township.

The vehicle fled northbound on Plainfield Avenue and was pursued by the officers to Northland Drive. The vehicle hit spike strips set by a Rockford City Police Officer, on Wolverine Blvd at Belding Rd. The vehicle came to rest in the city of Rockford.

Three male suspects ran from the vehicle on 10 Mile Road near Courtland. A perimeter was set and an MSP K-9 track was used. Two of the three suspects were located about 1.5 miles from the scene: an 18 year old male from Wyoming and a 17 year old male from Kentwoodand were taken into custody.

The third suspect is still on the run.
