GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–Icy roads are what caused an officer-involved crash Saturday night, according to police.

Leonard St. NE between Plymouth and Perkins was shut down due to icy road conditions and crashes. While a male officer was responding to the crash to shut down the road, another car ran into his cruiser.

Police said he sustained only minor injuries, and was able to drive himself to the hospital for treatment. There’s no word on what happened to the driver who crashed into the cruiser.

As of this writing, the road is still closed due to its unsafe driving conditions.
