Pregnant woman hospitalized after crash

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A pregnant woman in Van Buren County was taken to the hospital after a car crash on Sunday.

Around 11 a.m. Deputies were dispatched to the 57000 block of 92nd Avenue for a single vehicle crash with reports of people trapped inside. An investigation showed a mini-van went off the road and hit a tree before crossing the center line and ending up in a ditch.

When crews got there, the 30-year-old driver who is 9 months pregnant, and a small child were outside of the mini-van conscious and alert. However, a 31-year-old male was trapped inside after reportedly losing consciousness.

The child wasn’t hurt but the two adults were transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo for treatment of minor injuries.

At this point, it’s unclear what caused the driver to lose control.
