KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Devonte Parker, 20, is facing charges related to the death of a man who was allegedly thrown from the hood of his vehicle.
According to a press release, 54-year-old Kenneth Miller confronted Parker Jan. 2 after calling police to report that there was loud music coming from a car at Golden Tree apartments in the 4800 block of East Milham Avenue.
Police believe Parker took off from the apartment with Miller still on his vehicle and say that he was thrown from the hood of the car about a quarter of a mile from the apartment complex.
Parker was charged Thursday with reckless driving causing death and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He’s currently behind bars on a $220,000 bond.
