Kalamazoo County shooting death being treated as a homicide
OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A woman has died of a gunshot wound, and police are treating the death as a homicide.
The shooting apparently took place Sunday night, and the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the woman’s boyfriend called police to report the woman had been shot.
While the department confirmed the death and the status of the investigation, it’s unclear when the woman died. Deputies found her wounded in an apartment, and she had been taken to the hospital, but police were unsure at first whether the gunshot wound to the head was self-inflicted.
It was Monday morning before KCSD confirmed the death is being investigated as a homicide.
There are no reports of any arrests.
