GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Kayla is a 16-year-old girl searching for a loving family, and she says she`s never met someone she doesn`t like. She's a self0-proclaimed 'tomboy' who puts others before herself.

But after spending three years searching for a loving adoptive family, she's hoping someone else will finally put her first.

“I don’t have people I can see and know I can lean on forever,” Kayla says.

A little kindness and understanding is all she's looking for.

“I love being outdoors, so I like families that like do a lot of outdoorsy stuff and do a lot of fun stuff,” Kayla says.

The creative teen enjoyed touring the Civic Theater in Grand Rapids and says she loves kids and dreams of a family with lots of brothers and sisters. “With kids, there’s no limit on my patience," Kayla says. "I’ll do whatever. I just love kids."

And at the pivotal age of 16, she’s also looking for a dad whose patience knows no limits.

“I want him to help me with drivers' training,” she says.

But more important, Kayla wants someone to be there on the hard days.
“When I get sad and start crying, like there’s a lot of times I just cry more,” she says, "because I know there’s not someone I can ask to comfort me, to just kind of cuddle with. Hugs make me feel better.”

It's love Kayla is eager to return.

“I’m very, very, very compassionate," she says. "I don’t even care who it is. I’m very, very, very forgiving. I don’t think there’s a limit on my forgiveness ever or my compassion. I’m very tenderhearted.”

Needless to say, Kayla would love a family who loves to love.

“I’m very affectionate. I love hugs, so I want a family that’s ‘huggy,’” she says.

Saying she knows right from wrong, Kayla has been through tough life experiences alone and says she's stronger for it.

“I have integrity," she says. "People say that’s hardest to build up, but it’s easy for me."

“I’ve never hated anyone in my life. I’ve never not forgiven anyone in my life.”
