GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- It’s a unique world in the broader landscape of law enforcement, one with its own challenges, rewards, and even language:  a career as a K-9 officer.

In a three-part series we’re calling ‘Paws Before Boots,’ the Grand Rapids Police Department invited us to go behind the scenes with K-9 teams for an in-depth look at the dogs’ training procedures, their work in the field, and ultimately, their retirement.

Watch the above video for Part 2 of the series, in which we join Sergeant Darren Geraghty and his partner, K-9 Izzie, as they go out into the field.  Click here for part 1, Training as a K-9 officer.

An impressive share! I have just forwarded this
onto a co-worker who has been doing a little homework on this.
And he actually bought me breakfast because I stumbled upon it for
him… lol. So allow me to reword this…. Thanks for the meal!!

But yeah, thanks for spending the time to talk about this
    subject here on your blog.
