Dowagiac man dies in Cass County plowing accident

CASS COUNTY, Mich. — A Sunday afternoon snow plowing accident resulted in the death of a Dowagiac man.

According to Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr., at 4:36 p.m. Sunday deputies responded to a fatal accident in the 22000 block of Fosdick Street in Wayne Township. The investigation showed that Paul Williamson, 53, of Dowagiac was plowing in a skid steer and reaching out of the skid steer when his foot hit the hydraulic pedal to lift the front bucket.

Williamson was pinned between the arm and the skid steer, resulting in fatal injuries.

The Wayne Township Fire Department and Pride Care Ambulance assisted the Cass County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
