Commercial bus evacuated in Allegan Co. after catching on fire

ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. —  A commercial bus in Allegan County was evacuated Wednesday after the vehicle caught on fire.

According to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Department, at about 3:14 p.m. the charter bus pulled over on southbound I-196 near the Saugatuck/Douglas exit.

Everyone was evacuated without incident and no injuries were reported, dispatchers said.

Officials say the fire initially started near one of the bus’ tires and eventually engulfed about half of the vehicle.

No other details are available at this time.
