GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A 53-year-old Battle Creek woman was sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually abusing a child and photographing it.

According to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Grand Rapids, Lori Ann Roth pleaded guilty in November 2014 to exploiting a child less than 12 years old with Brandon Schroth.

Schroth, 41, is a serial child molester who officials say traveled the world to abuse children and make child pornography between 2009 and 2011.

Officials say the two met in a chatroom and communicated for several years before meeting up three times in 2009 and 2010 to molest a child.  Schroth sent pictures of the abuse to others, and they were eventually discovered on a computer in Atlanta during a separate investigation.

Schroth was arrested and pleaded guilty in 2012 to 12 counts of producing child porn and aggravated sexual abuse of children.  He provided investigators with information that led to Roth’s arrest.

“The depravity of this defendant is beyond words,” Chief U.S. District Judge Paul L. Maloney said of Roth in a release.

In addition to the 30 year prison sentence, Roth was ordered to pay a $25,000 fine and will have 10 years of supervised release after prison.
