Two killed, four injured in Eaton County wreck

EATON COUNTY, Mich.–Two people were killed and another four were injured Sunday evening when the car they were in left the road and hit a tree.

It happened just before 6:00 p.m. on Mason Road south of Kinsel Highway. The Eaton County Sheriff’s Department says that the Oldsmobile Silhouette was heading southbound on Mason Road when the crash happened.

A 15-year-old male passenger, identified as Brenden Pearce, from Vermontville, was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver, 31-year-old Melissa Musser, from Vermontville, died later at Sparrow hospital in Lansing.

The other passengers, including a 19-year-old male from Vermontville, who was critically injured, were either flown or taken by ambulance to Sparrow Hospital.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
