WEST MICHIGAN — A few rivers are expected to crest over the next few days. The Grand River in Ionia, Kent and Ottawa counties will keep rising.  Snowmelt and frozen ground are adding runoff to the rivers.  Ice on the river may restrict flow in some areas.

River levels near Comstock Park are expected to exceed bankfull early Sunday.

Areas near the river will continue to see water impacts over the next few days.

The good news, very little rain expected through Thursday. Little rain means the rivers will only be fed by snowmelt and ice jams.

When the National Weather Service issues a flood advisory it means minor flooding is possible and rivers are forecast to exceed bankfull.

The image below shows a blue line and dotted purple line. The blue line shows what stage the river is at and the purple shows the forecast stage. The yellow area indicates the near flood zone. Orange is for minor flooding and red is for moderate flooding.
