Grand Rapids home a total loss following overnight fire

Crews battle Grand Rapids fire 2

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.–Crews fought a fully-involved house fire early Sunday morning.

Officials got the call just after 1 a.m. for a structure fire in the 900 block of Calvary Ave NW. The caller said there were three people trapped on the back porch, but by the time firefighters got there, they were out of the house and in the road outside.

Fire crews said the home is a total loss. The scene was cleared by 5 a.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
