DETROIT, Mich. — The Satanic Temple has launched a petition in response to Michigan’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act bill.
The bill, if signed into law, would allow businesses to claim religious exemption as their reason for refusing service to customers.
The petitionasks state lawmakers to add an amendment that would also require business owners to publicly post any discrimination policy in a place that is visible to patrons and employees.
“We thought it would be best if we could just ask for those discrimination policies to be public information,” Jex Blackmore of The Satanic Temple told FOX 2 in Detroit.
