Man sentenced to life in prison for Muskegon Co. motorcyclist’s murder

MUSKEGON, Mich. — Robert Earl Gee was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole Wednesday for the murder of Jake Rameau, accourding to Muskegon County court officials.

Gee wasfound guilty Feb. 26 of felony murder, first-degree premeditated murder and three firearms violations.

He received additional two year sentences for both felony firearms charges and between one and 10 years for being a felon in possession of a firearm, court officials said.

During Gee’s bench trial, Judge Timothy Hicks ruled that he shot out of a car window June 26, 2014, killing Rameau while he was riding his motorcycle.

The shooting happened at about 2 a.m. in the 2400 block of Peck Street in Muskegon Heights.

“This was a very tragic loss. Jake was a wonderful man. He will be missed by many people,” friend Dennis Falcon said of the 26-year-old victim.
