DETROIT, Mich -- Muskegon senior Deyonta Davis was awarded the 2015 Hal Schram Mr. Basketball award on Monday.  The award is given out annually to the state of Michigan's top boys basketball player.

Davis, a Michigan State signee, is averaging 19 points, 17 rebounds and 7 blocks per game this season while leading the Big Reds to a 23-1 record and a berth in a class A quarterfinal Tuesday against Lansing Everett.

Eric Davis of Saginaw Arthur Hill, a Texas singee,  finshed second, Trevor Manuel of Lansing Everett, an Oregon signee, finished third.

This marks the second consecutive year a Muskegon High School player has won the Mr. Basketball award after DeSahun Thrower, now at Stony Brook, won the award last season.  This is just the third time state history that one school has had back-to-back Mr. Basketball award winners.
