Vandals target elementary school in Morley

MORLEY, Mich. — Deputies with the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office are working to find who is responsible for breaking into the old Morley Elementary school in the last week, causing significant damage.

The building is located at 156 E. 7th Street in Morley.

Images of the damage show shattered glass, damage to doors and ceilings, along with spray painted ‘taggings’ on several walls throughout the building.  Deputies say the vandals also discharged fire extinguishers in the building, causing further damage.

Deputies say they believe the break-in and vandalism happened within the last week.  The damage was discovered on April 1.
