Detroit – Tiger fans are familiar with uncomfortable weather conditions on Opening Day. Snow, sleet and rain along with temperatures well below freezing are not that uncommon. This year they may get a break.

Opening Day is Monday, April 6, with first pitch scheduled for 1:08 PM.  Early Monday morning a storm system will be developing in the Central Plains. Showers will become  widespread over the Great Lakes, but not until Monday night or Tuesday. One computer model for Opening Day shows scattered showers by the afternoon.

Plenty can change with weather computer models but at this point, it looks like the Tiger’s have a good chance of playing on Opening Day. Temperatures will be in the upper 40’s to around 50° for first pitch.
