Fugitive sex offender sought by Battle Creek police

UPDATE HERE:  Task Force arrests fugitive sex offender

BATTLE CREEK – The Battle Creek Police Department in conjunction with the Michigan State Police 5th District fugitive team are seeking tips to help find a fugitive who’s wanted on sex offender violations.

29-year-old Johnie Bowman Ellis is 5’8″, 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, last known to be in the Battle Creek area.

Authorities say he’s wanted for sex offender registration violations, felony obstruction charges, and other warrants.

His online profile on Michigan’s Sex Offender Registry detail a 2005 conviction for Breaking and Entering into a vehicle causing damage.

Online state police records also detail an arrest in 2005 for a misdemeanor stolen property charge.

Online state police records also show Ellis was arrested in October 2014 for driving an unregistered vehicle with false identification while resisting arrest.
