ZEELAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Two women are recovering after a crash Sunday afternoon that happened after one of the women failed to stop at a red light.

Police responded to a two-vehicle personal injury crash at East Bound I-196 and Homestead Dr. around 1:47 p.m. Sunday.

One of the drivers, a 30-year-old female from Hudsonville, was traveling East on I-196 when she failed to stop at a red light at Homestead.  That driver’s vehicle slammed into a second car that was going through the intersection.

Both vehicles ended up leaving the roadway following the crash.

The two drivers are said to have been wearing the seat belts; suffering only minor injuries each.  They were both taken to local hospitals to be treated, but were listed in stable condition.
