Aero Med called to deadly crash near Saranac

IONIA COUNTY, Mich. — Aero Med was called in to assist first responders following a serious traffic crash in Ionia County Sunday evening.

The crash happened around 9:15 p.m near Parsonage Road near Glenmoor Drive just southeast of Saranac.

Authorities say Aero Med was called to the scene to assist first responders.  The helicopter was heard by our crew at the scene leaving the area around 9:30 p.m.

State Police tell FOX17 a witness called for help after seeing a vehicle pass him and then came upon the vehicle at the crash site.

Medical personnel with Aero Med assisted at the scene, but the male driver didn’t survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances leading up to the crash are still under investigation by the Michigan State Police.
