GRAND HAVEN, Mich. -- A 23-year-old classroom assistant at Lakeshore Middle School has been charged with accosting a child for immoral purposes.

According to a release from Grand Haven Public Safety, Dominic Anthony Ciccantelli was charged with the four-year felony in 58th District Court Tuesday afternoon.   Officials say he was arrested Monday following an investigation into his conduct with at least one student at Lakeshore Middle School.

Grand Haven Superintendent Keith Konarska tells FOX 17 that Ciccantelli was fired Monday after hearing of his arrest.

Konarska said that Ciccantelli started working for the district as a teaching assistant with special needs students in November.

A letter was emailed to parents on Tuesday, notifying them of the investigation.   Konarska said that his top priority is the safety of his students and is "deeply concerned about this."

The investigation is ongoing.  Ciccantelli's bond was set at $15,000.
