LANSING, Mich. — Wednesday is Earth Day, and there are several events planned around the state of Michigan to not only celebrate, but also raise awareness.

The largest event is being held in Lansing, by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD).  Thousands of people are expected to attend the celebration at Constitution Hall, which will feature dozens of interactive exhibits on topics that include recycling, conservation, and plants & animals.  It runs rom 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The DEQ has also posted a link that guides users to other Earth Day events around Michigan.

For people looking for savings on this Earth Day, Amazon is offering discounts on DVDs and Blu-rays that have environmental themes.
