CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. -- A Cedar Springs woman says her two dogs died horrible deaths less than an hour apart after they ate a blue substance she believes is poison.

Nancy Watson said Ruby and Colby, her dogs of 12 years, died after eating a poisonous substance that she's convinced was deliberately placed in her yard.

"It took us a couple days to put together the reality of what really happened, and now that we know it's even worse.  It's even worse," she said.

At first, Watson said she thought Colby needed to be let outside, but claims he was then falling down and couldn't walk.   She thought it might by a stroke, but said it wasn't long before he had foam all around his mouth and died in the backyard.

She took Colby to her father's house to bury him, and when she returned, she had to face another death.  She said Ruby also had foam all over her mouth, and later died the same way as Colby.

"We were all devastated.  The house is too quiet, there's a big presence missing in our home," she said.

Kent County Animal Control is investigating the incident, and no official cause of death has been determined at this time.

"What I want to do is find out who did this," Watson said.
