GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.--A Northview high school senior won the chance to sing the national anthem for the Opening Ceremonies at the Meijer State Games this summer.

Facebook users voted for their favorite entry, and it came from 18-year-old Mikaela Koelzer.

This was her winning submission.

Koelzer will perform during the Opening Ceremony, June 26 at Fifth Third Ballpark in Comstock Park.  An estimated 6,000 people will be in attendance.

The sixth annual Meijer State Games of Michigan, the signature event of the West Michigan Sports Commission, will begin on the weekend of June 19-21 and will pick up again with our main weekend from June 25-28 including the Opening Ceremony, and will conclude on August 8-9 with a soccer tournament.

All the events will be taking place within the greater Grand Rapids, Mich., area.
