GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A Grand Rapids Fire Department truck suffered significant damage when it was struck while its crew worked at the scene of a previous accident. The incident took place around 1 a.m. Friday at Burton Street at the East Beltline in Grand Rapids.
The driver who crashed into the fire unit was hospitalized but expected to recover.
No one was in the fire truck at the time of the crash, and no one besides the driver was hurt.
Alcohol is believed to have been involved.
