The crash happened around 2:00 p.m. on I-196 in the east bound lanes near 32nd Ave. in Hudsonville.

Officials said Bernard and Debra Langmyer were on the side of the road fixing a flat tire when they were hit.

Bernard was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Ottawa County Sheriff responded to the crash along with Georgetown Fire Department, and  Hudsonville Fire Department, and Life Ambulance.
