26-year-old sought in Banner Street shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Police in Grand Rapids are searching for a 26-year-old man in connection with a Tuesday shooting on the city’s southwest side.

According to a release, Ryan Anthony Lorenz is wanted in connection with the shooting, which happened just before 6 p.m. at 51 Banner St. SW.

A 20-year-old man was shot on the front porch of the home and may face long-term paralysis because of a spinal injury, police said.

Lorenz is described by police as 5 feet 11 inches tall and roughly 190 pounds.   He is also a parole absconder in Muskegon County.    Police say he frequents “The Black Hills” area in the 2200 block of Buchanan Ave. SW as well as Hunters Ridge Apartments, 4552 Hunters Ridge Dr. SE in Kentwood.    He is considered armed and dangerous, according to a release.
