A first look at the new Japanese Garden at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The latest addition to the Frederik Meijer Garden & Sculpture Park doesn’t open to the general public until Saturday, but members are able to check it out starting at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.

The Richard & Helen DeVos Japanese Garden is eight acres of waterfalls, authentic Japanese structures, a functioning tea house, and much more.  It is based on the centuries-old Japanese presentation style, integrates contemporary artwork and sculptures, and includes horticultural elements such as a bonsai garden.
