LANSING, Mich. - Two different petitions were approved Thursday for circulation to gather signatures - both of which would legalize marijuana in Michigan.

The petitions, if they gather enough valid signatures, would put the issue on the November 8, 2016 ballot to voters.  Both petitions allow for cultivation, possession and use of marijuana for other than medical purposes.  Both also allow for the state to collect taxes and fees on marijuana sales.  One of the petitions restricts use to people older than 21.
