VAN BUREN CO., Mich. – Heavy rain over the last few days is leading to washed out roads and flooding concerns in some area homes.
In Geneva Township, County Road 388 between 67th & 68th Streets is closed due to the road buckling and being in danger of being washed out. A couple of roads in Porter Township, 80th Avenue on the north side of Bankson Lake and County Road 354 between Lawton Village and 29th Street have been closed temporarily.
Also in Van Buren County, 48th Street between County Road 352 and 84th Avenue in Hamilton Township is closed due to water over the roads.
ServPro in Kalamazoo tells FOX 17 that they are very busy cleaning and drying area homes and basements.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Eaton, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, and Van Buren Counties through this evening. A Flood Advisory is in effect for Ionia and Kent Counties.
