Man struck by train, taken to the hospital with serious injuries

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. — One person suffered ┬áserious injuries after being struck by a train on Monday near Lakewood Boulevard and James Street in Holland Township.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said a 52-year-old Holland man was on the tracks between the rails when he was hit by a coal train.

The man said he did not see or hear the train coming.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police said his injuries were non-life threatening.
