Aero Med responds after dirt biker hit by car

PINE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 54-year-old Holly man was flown to the hospital by Aero Med after being struck from behind by a car Sunday.

According to a release from the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Stephen Pelto was walking his dirt bike along Lake Road south of Stanton when a car hit him from behind.   The crash happened at approximately 12:08 p.m.

Officials say Pelto was participating in the Knuckle Buster Enduro Race and believe his bike malfunctioned.

The crash remains under investigation.
