Man wanted for armed robbery caught after fleeing

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids Police say that a man wanted for an armed robbery in the city was arrested today after running from officers.

A little after 4 PM, the FBI Fugitive Task Force spotted the fugitive.  A traffic stop was attempted but the man drove away. Officers ended the chase but located him later that day.

When found, the man ran across the north and southbound lanes of US-131 near Burton Street SW but was soon caught and taken into custody.

The man was wanted for a personal robbery that happened at the intersection of Nelson Avenue and Otillia Street SE July 1.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending arraignment.
