KALAMAZOO, TOWNSHIP, Mich.– Police in Kalamazoo County are thanking the public for helping them take a suspect with a violent past off the street.

Back on July 15th, police carried out a search warrant at a home on Washburn Avenue in Kalamazoo Township, after investigating Robert Marlatt for manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine .

According to detectives, Marlatt left the home with a woman, leading to a brief police chase. Officers eventually stopped the chase for safety concerns.

Sunday, police got a tip that Marlatt was visiting a home on North Park Street and saw him sitting in his vehicle and arrested him.

Back in 2007, Marlatt was convicted of trying to run over two public safety officers.
