SUV submerged in Branch County lake

BETHEL TWP, Mich. — A 68-year-old woman from Ohio suffered minor injuries after the SUV she was driving ended up in the water on Wednesday.

It happened around 4:20 p.m. at the Rose Lake Access in Fiesta Shores.

The Branch County Sheriff’s Office said the woman was backing a trailer into the water to unload a boat. She got out of the vehicle while it was still in reverse. ┬áPolice said that despite her efforts the vehicle and trailer went into the lake and submerged up to the middle of the windows.

The woman suffered a minor injury to her leg and sought medical treatment later on. No one else was hurt.
