Suspect arrested in armed robbery at Calhoun County liquor store

Springfield, Mich.– A man with a knife nearly made off with an unspecified amount of cash from a liquor store before being arrested.

It happened at Sam’s Discount Liqour on West Dickman Road in Springfield.

Deputies say a store clerk called 911 after being threatened by the man with the knife and ordered to empty the cash drawer.

Authories were able to respond quickly enough to confront the man as he exited the store where they made the arrest.

They say that along with carrying the knife, the man was also highly intoxicated.
