Police searching for 300 lb. man who robbed store clerk with hammer

GALESBURG, Mich. — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the suspect who robbed a dollar store with a hammer on Monday night.

It happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. at the Dollar General on E Michigan in Galesburg.  Police say the clerk was robbed by a man armed with a claw-type hammer that he obtained from the store.

The suspect is described as a large, white male approximate 300 lbs. and 6’0″ tall.  He was last seen driving away from the store in a late model white Kia.
