Voters head to polls in Grand Rapids mayoral election and local proposals

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.-- Grand Rapids' voters will head to the polls Tuesday to choose the city's first new mayor in more than a decade.

Four candidates are facing off in the primary election. They are Rosalynn Bliss, John George, Willard Lee and Robert Dean. If one of them gets more than 50% of the vote, they will be elected mayor. Otherwise, the top two vote-getters will go head-to-head in a run-off election in November.

      Yes, we do. We need to exclude anyone who is not a citizen from voting. Not just make it illegal, but make it felony voting fraud to even attempt to vote if you are anything but a valid voter. That means stricter controls and identification requirements at the polling places.

      It is not rules which have caused low voter turnout. It is public apathy caused by government corruption which has caused voter turnout in the US to be so low.
