MUSKEGON, Mich. - A person with information about a fatal hit and run crash that killed a Detroit area bicyclist met with Muskegon County Prosecutors Tuesday.

Attorneys from the Daily Law Firm of Royal Oak, Michigan sent a statement saying that "an individual with particular knowledge as to the driver of the vehicle involved", will meet at the Muskegon office at Noon.  That meeting happened, but very few details about the meeting are being released.

Susan Cummings was killed early Saturday morning as she road with a group of about 100 bicyclists riding across the state this past weekend.  Cummings was hit from behind on Fruitvale Road.

Prosecutor D.J. Hilson tells us that the Muskegon County Sheriff's Department is continuing its investigation into the crash and the department has not yet turned everything over to the prosecutor's office.  Hilson also tells us that the attorney offered to keep in contact with investigators.  The attorney does represent the person who met with prosecutors Tuesday.

According to the statement from attorneys, the investigation shows that no alcohol was involved in the crash.  The statement says that "all involved are truly sorry for this tragic accident" and that "it is a shame that these car-bicycle accidents happen on small county roads with no bicycle lanes and the lack of adequate safety provisions for Susan Cumming's bicycle riding group."
