LAKE MICHIGAN – Dangerous swimming conditions are likely again Tuesday along the Lake Michigan shoreline due to high waves and strong currents.

The National Weather Service has issued a beach hazards statement which run through the day into late Tuesday night from St. Joseph all the way to Manistee.

Beaches with particularly dangerous conditions Tuesday include North Beach in South Haven, Holland State Park, Muskegon State Park, Mears State Park in Pentwater and Stearns Park in Ludington.

Forecasters say northwest winds will increase to 15 to 25 knots and waves will build to three to six feet high.  The highest waves will be to the south and the most hazardous conditions will be on the north side of piers and break walls.  Structural currents, longshore currents and rip currents are all possible.

A small craft advisory has also been issued.
